Maslow's hierarchy of needs
This theory was created during 1943 by a psychologist called Abraham Maslow, he studied the human motivation, This theory can also be applied to the media and magazines.
For a magazine to be successful it must aim to at the very least hit one of these criteria and in particular the "self-actualization" as it is at the top of the list and therefore the most important.The high the pyrimide the more important and therefore more attractive the magazine.
